Dean of American Landscape Painters
Thomas Moran was born in Bolton, England, his family moved to America seeking economic opportunity in a new land. Moran became an apprentice at a Philadelphia engraving firm but later began working in the studio of his older brother who began to establish himself as a marine painter.
Moran had a life-long interest in the work of English artist J.M.W. Turner and was described by contemporaries as the "American Turner". His trip to Yellowstone in 1871 marked the turning point of his career. He continued to return to the Grand Canyon and more extensively in Arizona and New Mexico, producing a number of striking paintings of the pueblos at Acoma and Laguna. Extraordinarily productive, both as a painter and an etcher, Moran continued to work well into his eighth decade.
At his death in Santa Barbara, California, he was memorialized as the "Dean of American Landscape Painters

Painting the Basket of Good Fortune
In Basket of Good Fortune the performer presents symbols of wishing good fortune for the New Year. An attractive sidebar, the artist who created this painting was in her 90s while she painted it. She was also a talented paper-cut artist, which is the art of cutting paper into complicated designs. The power of the paper cut medium is seen in her painting work of art.

Birds in Oil Paintings
Passionately to color and am particularly lured by simple yet sensual organic forms and the exciting realm of vibrant colors, shapes and textures found in nature. My work is collected in a very conscientious and exacting process. Color is built up from the full spectrum, foundation with violets, then blues, etc., and finally highlighting to bird hints of original color showing through. The glazing process is repeated to distill glow.

Jude Griebel Art-Paintings
Jude Griebel is a Montreal-based artist, and his work focuses on the concession of identity through narrative imagery, drawn from both story bound and biographical contexts. His paintings show individuals in allegorical and mystical situations, imbuing everyday settings with otherworldly significance. Figures are typically depict in states of vanishing, suggesting escape and disengagement from the realities of life. The liminal impression of these works pays honor to the transitory and mythological settings of picture book illustration, archival spirit photography, and dramatic stage design.

This historian has optional that the view we see is in fact that of a lanternslide as it would shown in painted form, thus the name, and the slight humour in combination the two discoveries in the same picture. It is not branded if Van Loo painted lantern slide. The painting resides in the National porch of Art.

Creating nature in Oil paintings
Oil painting is the process of painting with pigments that are clear with a medium of drying oil — particularly in early modern Europe, linseed oil. Often oil such as linseed was boiled with a resin such as pine resin or still frankincense; these were called 'varnishes' and were award-winning for their body and gloss. Other oils occasionally used include poppy seed oil, walnut oil, and safflower oil. These oils confer various properties to the oil paint, such as less yellowing or different aeration times. Certain differences are also visible in the sheen of the paints depending on the oil. Painters often use different oils in the same painting depending on specific pigments and effects beloved. The paints themselves as well develop a particular feel depending on the medium.

Twins Charming Expression
In this image, I intensify the coloring on the boy’s skin. I added a gloom of a darker color in their hair. On the edge of the painting, I determined to add a shade of brown umber to warm the painting’s overall look. It is a beautiful painting.
The coloring in this painting is very soft and slight. I am working to carry in beautiful hues of color that imitate on their skin, not just the natural skin color, but crimsons, yellow ocher’s, and subtle blues. The children are rendered in this painting at simply three months old. They are very beautiful. I am working to capture their charming and watchful expressions.
